Why Factor (ft. Monty Python)

In the final year of my BA in Animation Production, we were selected to participate in the production of a feature film, A Liar’s Autobiography. The film pays tribute to Graham Chapman, a late member of the internationally acclaimed British comedy troupe Monty Python.

The project involved 14 animation companies from around the world, each contributing in their own unique style to illustrate a segment of the protagonist’s life.

We animated over an audio clip, recorded by the original python crew decades ago. Over the production time of one and a half year, I co-directed our segment with my partner Reno Cicero and took on a variety of roles, including technical director, storyboarding and pre-visualisation, pipeline development, lighting and cinematography, rendering, compositing and editing.
